Face-Down Recovery Solutions for Eye Surgery
State of the Art, Medical-Grade Equipment

Payment is due when the equipment is reserved, but you may be entitled to a reimbursement by your insurance company. Vitrectomy recovery equipment is covered by some insurance companies, and not by others. Medicare categorizes face-down positioning equipment as “Not Reasonable And Necessary,” and does not cover it. Your insurer can tell you more about what your specific plan covers. We recommend that you speak to them before your surgery to find out if you will be reimbursed for the cost of the rental.

To help you file a claim for reimbursement with your insurer, we’ll supply you the form and coding information your insurer will require, along with the HSPCS code, which is E139RR. In order to increase the likelihood of reimbursement, we also recommend that you obtain a letter from your ophthalmologist if possible, stating that the vitrectomy recovery equipment is “medically necessary” for your post-surgery recovery.
